US crude inventories rise 2.69M barrels despite draw expectations

API data showed US crude oil inventories increased by 2.69 million barrels in the week ending July 30, exceeding analyst forecasts for a 2 million barrel draw. Commercial inventories excluding the Strategic Petroleum Reserve have declined 58 million barrels over sixteen weeks.
